Equipment

To participate in calisthenics, pupils are required to wear a leotard and use three pieces of equipment:

  • Clubs
  • Rod
  • Aesthetic skirt (girls only)

Should your child be trying calisthenics for the first time, all equipment will be available for you to borrow for the first few weeks. For tinies participants, all equipment is provided at no charge, although you are welcome to purchase your own set.

For safety reasons, hair should be neatly secured in a ponytail or bun, and all jewellery should be removed.

Children are also asked to bring a water bottle to each class in order to stay properly hydrated.

If buying a new leotard, our preference is that it is black.

All items can be purchased direct from the college (occasionally second-hand items may be available) or from www.thecalisthenicsshop.com.au. Please speak to your team manager for more information.

In cooler weather a long-sleeved leotard, ballet wrap and/or tight leggings may be worn. Jumpers and tracksuit pants are not suitable, as the coaches cannot see correct deportment and alignment under bulky clothing.
