Parent/Guardian Consent

By payment of the Association affiliation fee, parents/guardians consent to the following:

• Information provided on this form may be used by the Calisthenics Association of WA (“the Association”) for the administration of the sport of  calisthenics and in accordance with the objects of the Association. This information will be held in an Association database at the Association office and may be forwarded to the Australian Calisthenics Federation (“ACF”) for use in the administration of the sport of calisthenics on a national level and in accordance with the objects of the ACF. Members can access their personal information through the Association upon request.
• The member’s name and photograph (but not address) may be recorded and/or published in any form of CAWA and ACF media including video, live streaming, website, social media, newsletters, reports and programs (whether printed or electronic) for the purpose of calisthenics.
• Photos during competition presentations may be taken and published by the audience.
• Video may be recorded of the member whilst training and during Association (or club) performances. Such videos may be used for:
• family keepsakes by family members or other members.
• by or for coaching staff to be used for coaching purposes.
• by or for adjudicators for adjudication purposes.
• Information about calisthenics may be sent to the member from time to time by mail or email.

Authorisation may be retracted at any time; such retraction to be submitted in writing and forwarded to CAWA Administration, via email at info@calisthenicswa.com.au or PO Box 1464, Midland DC WA 6936.

Privacy consent

When registering your child at Imperial Calisthenic College you consent to their:

• photo being taken and published (may include name, but not address) on Imperial Calisthenic College media (printed or electronic) for the purpose of calisthenics, including:
  • video
  • website
  • social media
  • reports
  • event programs 
• training and college performances being recorded and used by
  • family and other members as keepsakes
  • coaching staff for coaching purposes.

Let us know in writing if you do not consent to parts, or all, of the above by email at registrar@imperialcc.org.au

Code of conduct

Imperial Calisthenic College expects all parents and guardians of members under the age of 18 years to adhere to the following code of conduct:

• Remember that your child participates in sport for their enjoyment, not yours.
• Encourage your child to participate; do not force them.
• Calisthenics is a team sport and needs all members for worthwhile training. Ensure your child attends training sessions whenever possible, including any extra trainings throughout the year.
• Encourage your child to listen and follow the coach’s instructions.
• Encourage your child to practice and be prepared for competition.
• When arriving at training, do not leave your child until the team manager or coach arrives (do not leave children with a cadet or helper).
• At the end of training sessions your child must be collected from inside the hall (children will not be able to leave the hall unless accompanied by an adult).
• Do not approach coaches with concerns. Speak to your child's team manager and they will arrange for the coach to speak to you, if necessary.
• If your child is under 18 years of age, inform the team manager of any illness or injury they may have. Provide copies of medical advice if requested by the coach.
• Focus on your child's efforts and performance, rather than winning or losing.
• Never ridicule or yell at your child for making a mistake or losing a competition.
• Children learn best by example - appreciate good performances by other teams, win or lose.
• Encourage your child to settle disagreements without resorting to hostility or violence and lead by example in your interactions with others. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
• Respect officials' decision and teach your child to do the same.
• Show appreciation for coaches, officials and administrators. Without them, your child could not participate.
• Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person and their families regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
• Make friends, have fun and enjoy calisthenics!

Consequences for breach of the code of conduct

The Imperial Calisthenic College committee in consultation with the team coach reserve the right to discipline any person in breach of this code of conduct in a manner which they deem is appropriate and fair, or at a future time that is agreed upon. Breaches of the code of conduct will be dealt with on an individual basis. Breaches of this code of conduct may result in any of the following consequences:

• verbal warning
• written warning
• removal of your child or children from the team
• removal from the club.
